A peak at middle-school aged Rhapsody and Humdrum!

[PANEL 1]
A zoomed-out shot of Rhapsody and Maz standing on the sidewalk. Rhapsody has her hands on her hips with a large smile, while Maz looks down at her with a slightly annoyed expression. No dialogue.

[PANEL 2]
Rhapsody gives a toothy smile and puts her hand on the back of her neck sheepishly.
RHAPSODY: Okay, so I kinda got lost for a bit--but I know where we are now!!

[PANEL 3]
Maz looks over at Rhapsody with a puzzled expression.
MAZ: I thought you said you hung out with this girl at her work all the time. Aren't you two, like, best friends?
Rhapsody places her finger on her chin and looks up to the side thoughtfully, recalling the past.
RHAPSODY: Humdrum? Oh yeah, we go waaaaaaaayyy back. Like "first day of middle school" way back.
To the side of Rhapsody and Maz are photo booth photo strips of a middle-school aged Rhapsody and Humdrum. The photo strip is bordered with phrases like "BEST FRIENDS!" and "OMG!". Humdrum's hair is a dark gray, and she's wearing a dark purple hoodie. Rhapsody's hair is much longer and she's wearing an orange Nyan Cat sweater. In the photo strip, Rhapsody is making multiple expressions, including showing her teeth by hooking her cheeks with her fingers, sticking her tongue out with her hands up in a "nya nya nya boo boo" expression, making an exaggerated gasp with her hands on her cheeks, and making a deathly serious glare into the camera. In all of the photo strip photos, Humdrum is looking forward with a slight smile. She does not change expression of pose in any of the photos. Next to the photo strip is another picture of middle-school Rhapsody and Humdrum holding the photo strips looking at them. Humdrum looks indifferent, and Rhapsody looks excited.

[PANEL 4]
Rhapsody makes a joyful expression and looks away, waving her hand towards Maz in a "pshh" motion.
RHAPSODY: I just haven't been to the store in a while, that's all! No biggie.
Maz looks over at Rhapsody with an expression of slight disbelief.
MAZ: Mhm.

[PANEL 1]
A large side-shot of a city street. Rhapsody has spun around and is walking backwards, facing Maz. Maz continues walking forwards with her hands in her pockets.
MAZ: So what's this girl like?
RHAPSODY: And ruin the surprise?? What kind of girl do you take me for, Maz?
MAZ: After last night, an irresponsible one.
RHAPSODY: You wound me.
A leaf from a nearby tree starts to fall and floats slowly down to panel 2.

[PANEL 2]
The leaf from panel 1 enter the panel from the top right. Mazurka looks up at it thoughtfully.
MAZ: You really think she'll be interested in playing again, though?
MAZ: High school was a long time ago.

[PANEL 3]
A close up of Rhapsody. She's making an extremely enthusiastic expression, planting her right fist in her left palm.
RHAPSODY: I'm sure of it!

[PANEL 4]
A zoomed-out shot of Rhapsody. She is now looking downwards pensively, with her right fist covering her mouth.
RHAPSODY: Probably.
RHAPSODY: I think.

I love imagining that Rhapsody is being so specific with talking cus her tongue is swelling as she speaks lolol I love her expressions so much♡
